As a wedding photographer, I am perfectly confident and capable of capturing your Waco or Austin wedding solo. On the other hand, two sets of eyes are always better than one. If a second photographer is something you’re thinking about, or if you are curious as to what exactly a second photographer will do, I have included a description of their duties and some reasons you might consider hiring one.
What is a second photographer?
A second photographer is a photographer I select to help photograph your wedding under my direction. All of the second photographer’s photos will be compiled with the photos I have taken, and edited by me to create a seamless gallery. I offer second photography as an add-on service to your wedding package.

How long will they be available?
For my second photography add-on you can choose the amount of hours that you want within the timeframe I’m hired for. If you are unsure, I’m always happy to offer my suggestion based on what’s important to you, the length of your wedding events, and how many guests there are.
Why should I add a second photographer?
This goes without saying, but nobody can be in two places at once. That’s one of the reasons why having a second photographer can benefit you along with offering a different approach and another set of hands to capture the quickest moments.
Simultaneous Moments Captured
You will likely have two events happening at once, such as a cocktail hour during your family formal photos. With two photographers, no event will be missed. For instance, I can take bridesmaids getting ready photos at the same time the second photographer captures the groomsmen. While we’re away taking bridal portraits, other memorable moments can still get captured (you don’t want to miss grandma dancing to your playlist!).

More Variety
Another reason why you might want a second photographer is to introduce more variety in your photos. With two photographers you’ll get different angles on the same big events, like the first dance or the ceremony. You’ll also have some creative variety. The way I approach a certain photo could be approached in a different way by another photographer.

Two Sets of Eyes
Weddings often have a lot of people. While I’m always watching for any special moments, having a second photographer helps to ensure the spontaneity gets captured. During the ceremony while I’m focused on everyone walking down the aisle, my second photographer might notice Mom tearing up. Or maybe a groomsman decides to do a backflip – photographing something quick and unexpected is way more likely with two people watching for those moments.

Saying yes to a second photographer
While some people may not have a large enough wedding, or simply don’t want to pay to add a second photographer, there are a number of reasons that you may want to pull the trigger on adding one to your wedding. They can mix things up with a different perspective and capture moments that you never knew you missed. Having two photographers at your wedding means every moment is forever encapsulated in your photo gallery.
