When it comes to picking a wedding venue you want to make sure that the place where you say “I do,” is going to be the right fit for you and your future spouse. As a Texas wedding photographer, I have learned that some of the most beautiful venues capitalize on the natural beauty that is the central Texas landscape. While they might not be for everyone, “country-style” or “rustic” venues seem to capture just the right amount of that natural Texas beauty while still keeping it classy. Below is a list of my top three country/rustic wedding venues in Waco.
1. Deerfield Estates
Deerfield Estates in Waco offers both indoor and outdoor wedding options. Their vast lawns and beautiful pavilion create a great space for the couple looking to feature the Texas landscape. They also have an expansive barn-style ballroom if you’re looking to escape the weather or if you just prefer an indoor wedding. Deerfield also has a bridal suite and grooms cabin to get ready in and an optional on-site lodging option.

2. Old Bethany Weddings and Events
Old Bethany Weddings and Events in Lorena (20 minutes outside of Waco) offers both indoor and outdoor wedding options. Their turf grass lawn is perfect for the couple who wants to showcase those natural elements without having to worry about dirt or mud. They also have a huge barn-style grand room with an all white interior and large windows for natural lighting. They also have a covered patio for cocktail hour or additional seating for your reception. Old Bethany has both bride and groom suites, several full houses to choose from for optional on-site lodging, and a prep kitchen available to be used for your reception.

3. Moon River Ranch
Moon River Ranch in Satin (about 30 minutes outside of Waco) offers outdoor and indoor options. Their outdoor grand pavilion is surrounded by trees and other Texas nature. The chapel has a large outdoor space, to get married in nature with the chapel as backdrop. The inside of the chapel is not very large, so you won’t be able to get married inside unless you have a small wedding. If you like the nature and the vibes of this venue but you’re worried about the weather, they also have several indoor areas for weddings or receptions. Moon River allows access to their “yellow hotel” for the bride and groom to get ready. They also have many options for on-site lodging, a large fully stocked kitchen available for your reception, a pool, and a river if you want water in your photos.
