As an Austin wedding photographer, you might guess that I’d get a few unique requests. This was one of those times. It’s not everyday you get to shoot an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding, but that’s exactly what Kiana and Kyle were going for in their urban Austin wedding.
Kiana and Kyle couldn’t have chosen a more fitting venue with The Riley Building. The black, modern, minimalist walls and Austin skyline backdrop was a perfect blank canvas to create the Alice in Wonderland theme. The skyscrapers gave a beautiful urban feel to the family and bridal portraits.
With the wedding party dressed as characters from the classic children’s tale, their bubbly and eccentric wedding was far from traditional. Kiana and Kyle’s cake and desserts by Keep it Sweet kept right on theme with “Eat me” cupcakes and even a shrunken Alice inside of a teacup on top of the cake. The first dance was made absolutely magical thanks to the open air venue and the shining of the city lights.
