Courtney and Caleb had a beautiful wedding hosted at a family ranch. As a Texas wedding photographer, there are few things I love capturing more than the love of a couple backed by a natural Texas landscape. Although the wind was totally out of pocket, we were still able to get some really great pictures. There was so much natural Texas beauty that highlighted the faith and family aspect of this wedding.
I was able to put a zoom lens on my camera to capture a private, tearful first look photo between the bride and her father. After praying with her father, Courtney positioned herself in the middle of the trees to await her first look with Caleb. Courtney’s father and Caleb also prayed together before he went to see Courtney. The couple’s first look was such a special moment that ended with the two hugging and praying together. I left them to cherish that memorable time together, before the ceremony began.
As the wind caught the fabric draping the trees and the sun lowered around them, there was not a dry eye around for this perfectly beautiful occasion. We took couples portraits in the field as the sun set, and got some cute pictures of the couple embracing to keep each other warm on the chilly December day.
Everyone gathered in the barn to eat, and after the cake cutting and toasts, the tables were moved and the barn was made into a dance floor. The reception was packed full of fun from all the girls dancing, to Courtney being lifted up by the guys, to all the children living their best lives dancing with glow sticks, it was a genuinely good time. We took some night-time dancing photos of the couple in front of an area decorated with Christmas lights. After several run-throughs in their sparkler “tunnel” the happy couple made their final exit leaving everyone with smiles on their faces.
