I find that it’s important to get to know your photographer, especially when it comes to who is shooting your wedding, one of the most important days of your life. I’m a wedding photographer based in the Waco and Austin areas. I’d love to introduce myself and give insight to my approach to wedding photography. Making special moments into a work of art that you and your family will cherish forever is why I do what I do.
My Hobbies
I’ll learn a lot about you if you book, so here’s a little about me. One of my favorite pastimes is going on long hikes with my husband, Blake. We’re hoping to challenge ourselves someday soon on a multiple day backpacking trip. Some other activities I absolutely love are playing tennis and kayaking – can’t get enough of the outdoors! On a hot day, I love a good smoothie or an iced latte. I have a big family and can get pretty competitive with the games we play (we still have a lot of fun and love for each other though). When I’m not editing photos or being active outside, you’ll likely find me painting in my art studio.
My Art and Photography
I grew up in central Texas knowing at 3 years old that I would be an artist. As I got older, I surrounded myself with art and learned as much as I could. A common theme throughout my work in the past decade has been relationships. What could possibly be more important in your wedding photos than capturing the relationship and personalities of you and your fiance?
My Photography Style
My photography style is a blend of editorial, and fine art with lots of fun and candid moments. One of my main focuses is making sure you can feel the emotions of the day. I really want to capture your unique personalities and relationship in the photos I take. And, yes – I like to get emotionally invested in my work.
My Process
Your wedding is a special day that you will want to look back on throughout your entire life. I love to capture, not just images, but the emotions and vibes of that day. Something special that I aim to do is to make each photo a piece of art and the gallery as a whole to tell your unique love story.
There is a lot of work that goes into preparing for your wedding before the final gallery is delivered. I always offer to meet with you so we can discuss details on your wedding vision. Then we can plan an engagement session and I can help you decide on a location and time that will bring out the vibe you want for your session. Lots of people choose to use these photos for their save the dates or wedding website. A month before your wedding, I send out a wedding day questionnaire to gather all the details I need so your wedding goes smoothly and your photos reflect the joy from that day!
My Experience
During your wedding, I keep your timeline on hand so you can be present for all those special moments. Since I’ll be with you throughout most of your day, I’ll watch the time and keep you on track. I make sure to give plenty of time between photos for you to rest and enjoy the day. Once the formal family photos are taken I take a step back, and capture the happy faces of the rest of your wedding guests. I’ll send you a link to your gallery within a few days, so you can view some sneak peeks and post on social media if you want. Your full gallery will then be delivered in the same place where you can order prints/albums and share to your family!
